destination

Boasting some of the most biodiverse marine life and coral reefs, Raja Ampat is considered one of the best snorkelling and diving destinations in Indonesia.

Raja Ampat sits on the Bird's Head Peninsula, a regency known globally for its marine reserve, with islands showcasing a glorious mix of limestone karsts, crystal-clear waters, and Papuan culture.

Discover immersive itineraries exploring the northern and southern regions, encompassing whale shark encounters, Birds of Paradise sightings, stingless jellyfish, waterfalls, zodiac excursions into mangroves, and small village stops.

The best way to reach the area is by flight via Jakarta, before joining your liveaboard adventure aboard a traditional phinisi — a handcrafted wooden sailboat built to glide comfortably through Indonesia's shallow reefs and island channels.

Journey past uninhabited islands where jungle meets white sand, and access the hidden gems of Indonesia's Coral Triangle, guided by an all-Indonesian crew who know these waters intimately.

A world away from the crowds of Bali, the Raja Ampat Islands offer a wilder, more remote side of Indonesia.

Visas

Most passport holders, including Australians, British, Canadians, Americans and New Zealanders can apply for an e-visa (E-VOA), if staying for 30 days or less, no later than 48 hours prior to travelling to Indonesia:

https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/

You can also apply for a regular Visa on Arrival (VOA) at certain international airports, seaports and land crossings, however travellers are strongly encouraged to apply online prior to arrival. You will need to have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from your time of arrival into Indonesia.

Effective September 1, 2025:

All international arrivals into Indonesia are required to complete the All Indonesia integrated declaration system. This unified digital platform covers immigration, customs, health, and quarantine.

What Travellers Need to Do:

1. Submit the form within 3 days before arrival.

2. Access the system via the web portal https://allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id or the mobile app (available on Android & iOS).

3. QR Code: Generated immediately upon registration and also sent to the traveller’s email. Travellers should save and present it on arrival (screenshot or downloaded file).

If entering Bali, the Bali Provincial Government has a tourist levy of IDR 150,000 per person for foreign visitors, this is separate from the e-Visa on Arrival and Visa on Arrival fees. To streamline entry procedures at Bali's airport and ports, travellers are urged to opt for cashless pre-payment before travelling.

If you are from another country, please check your visas requirements.

You must always carry identification (or a copy) such as your passport or resident stay permit. Officials conduct ID checks in tourist areas, including in Bali.
