Today is at your own leisure until we transfer to the boat in the afternoon. You may like to spend the morning exploring the local area. Recommendations include a tour of KokoMana, a cocoa farm and chocolate factory, or a visit to Flora Tropical Gardens which showcases 250 species of palms, some quite rare, along with waterlilies, orchids, fruit trees and a stunning view over Savusavu Bay. This afternoon, the group transfers to the marina to board Sea Breeze III. You’ll meet the captain and crew who will introduce you to life onboard and conduct a safety briefing. Your kayak guide will cover paddle safety and help with gear fitting. Enjoy a welcome dinner on board. Savusavu Bay provides a calm anchorage tonight. Please note, lunch is not included today.

Meals:  B,D

We depart the marina early this morning and head 24 nautical miles along the south-east coast of Vanua Levu. Our destination is Rainbow Reef, a world-renowned diving location due to the vibrant and diverse coral ecosystems. The reef is a top spot for our first snorkel among colourful fish, turtles and occasional reef sharks. There are sheltered anchorages nearby, where we can launch the kayaks and explore the south-eastern coastline of Vanua Levu.

Meals:  B,L,D

On crossing the Somosomo Strait to Taveuni Island, we’ll keep an eye out for pilot whales and dolphins that are often spotted in the area. Known as the "Garden Island" of Fiji, Taveuni is the third- largest island in the country and a captivating destination for nature lovers. With lush tropical rainforests, waterfalls and abundant flora and fauna, Taveuni offers a mix of adventure and relaxation. Sea kayaking along Taveuni’s coastline is particularly rewarding due to its’ sheltered bays and stunning scenery. As we head north along Taveuni’s western coast, we can spend time on Korolevu Island, a place that’s perfect for paddling with calm waters and and soft corals providing fantastic snorkelling. Korolevu is situated off the coast from Somosomo village, where the International Date Line crosses Taveuni.

Meals:  B,L,D

Rounding the northern top of Taveuni, we can stop at Matei and paddle to the beach from where we can snorkel the reef. We then motor south to Bouma National Park on Taveuni’s east coast. The Park is 50 square kilometres of coastal forest and jungle, making up a third of Taveuni’s total area and home to Tavoro (Bouma) Falls – the most iconic waterfalls in Fiji. The first waterfall is a short walk from the park’s visitor centre, with two more spectacular falls a longer trek away. The phenomenal views are worth the extra effort and you can cool off in the natural swimming pools. Heading further south, The Lavena Coastal walk starts where the road ends on Taveuni’s wild south-eastern coast. The winding coastal track takes you to breathtaking beaches, across rock-strewn rivers and into vine-covered jungle before ending with a dip at some spectacular waterfalls. Kayaking along the remote rocky coast is spectacular, where waterfalls empty directly into the ocean.

Meals:  B,L,D

Leaving Taveuni Island, we head north-east to Qamea Island. The island is surrounded by sheltered bays, perfect for launching the kayaks and for access to pristine coral reefs for snorkelling. The island’s beautiful beaches, secluded coves, and rainforest-clad hills provide an idyllic backdrop for our paddling outings. Onshore, we visit local Fijian villages, hike to waterfalls or simply relax in the island’s peaceful environment.

Meals:  B,L,D

From Qamea we head north to the strait between Rabi and Kioa Islands to experience the awe- inspiring opportunity to snorkel alongside majestic manta rays. The strong currents flowing through the strait concentrates nutrients, making a perfect feeding spot for mantas to access plankton. The mantas can range in size from 3 to 5 meters (9.8 to 16.4 feet) across their wingspans and are known as the gentle giants of the ocean. There is usually a stable population of mantas in the area between the months of May and November. Later today, we head south and then west along Vanua Levu Island, towards Savusavu. We enjoy our last night onboard with a celebratory dinner.

Meals:  B,L,D

Today sees us disembark Sea Breeze III at Savusavu marina by 10am. We farewell the captain and crew before a transfer to Savusavu airport if catching a flight out today or into the town if continuing your stay in Vanua Levu.

While our itineraries offer a range of activities, from gentle Zodiac cruises to more challenging hikes and paddles, it’s essential to understand the nature of this experience before you join us. You don’t need to be an elite athlete, but you do need an adventurous spirit, good health, and the ability to move confidently on a small vessel—especially in changing weather and sea conditions. Our paddling program is designed for active guests looking for a deeper connection with the places we visit. Divers must be certified prior to joining the departure and carry necessary documentation onboard. Of course, all activities are optional—and you’re welcome to enjoy the boat at your own pace. Frequently Asked Questions

The ideal time to visit Fiji for kayaking is during the dry season from May to November, which offers milder temperatures and less rainfall. We schedule trips primarily within this window to ensure the best possible conditions for our guests. The early and late parts of the season (May and October) often feature warmer temperatures and gentler breezes, making them particularly pleasant.

We choose the Yasawa Islands for their crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, palm-fringed beaches, and authentic village culture—offering the perfect blend of natural beauty, warm hospitality, and sheltered conditions ideal for kayaking, snorkelling, and immersive exploration in one of Fiji’s most pristine and iconic island regions

Days are full and invigorating. You’ll start with breakfast and a briefing before kayaking between islands, snorkelling in crystal-clear waters, or visiting local villages. Lunch is often on a secluded beach. Our trip may involve 3-4 hours of paddling per day, ideal for those looking for a relaxed pace.

The trip accommodates beginners and those with some paddling experience, focusing on enjoying the serene environment at a leisurely pace. Everyone must complete a Kayak Experience form.

The marine environment here is rich with life; you may encounter manta rays, sea turtles and myriad tropical fish species. The islands themselves host diverse birdlife, bats and offer a mix of open grasslands, dry woodlands and tropical forest.

The trip provides immersive cultural experiences, allowing you to interact with local communities and experience Fijian hospitality.
