Set along Costa Rica’s wild Pacific coastline, this immersive small-ship journey explores one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth. Sailing roundtrip from Liberia aboard Safari Voyager, the voyage blends rainforest exploration, remote coastal access and extraordinary wildlife encounters into a dynamic and active expedition. Day 1
Join Liberia transfer to ship

Upon arrival at Liberia’s Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport, transfer to the marina to board the Safari Voyager. Settle into your cabin and meet your expedition team as you prepare for the journey ahead. Enjoy a welcome briefing and your first evening onboard as you set sail along Costa Rica’s Pacific coastline.

Day 2
Murciélago Bay

Begin your exploration in this remote corner of Costa Rica, where dry tropical forest meets the ocean. Choose from guided hikes through the national park, snorkelling in clear waters or kayaking along the rugged coastline. This region is rich in birdlife and marine species, offering an active and scenic introduction to the voyage.

Day 3
Curú Wildlife Refuge & Isla Tortuga

Step ashore at Curú Wildlife Refuge, home to monkeys, deer and a wide variety of birdlife. Explore on guided walks through forest trails before continuing to nearby Isla Tortuga, where white-sand beaches and turquoise waters provide opportunities for swimming, snorkelling or simply relaxing by the shore.

Day 4
Golfo Dulce

Cruise into Golfo Dulce, one of the few tropical fjords in the world, surrounded by dense rainforest and calm waters. Paddle through mangrove-lined channels by kayak or skiff, keeping an eye out for dolphins, birdlife and other wildlife that thrive in this unique ecosystem.

Day 5
Osa Peninsula

Discover the Osa Peninsula, widely regarded as one of the most biologically intense regions on Earth. Join guided rainforest hikes in search of wildlife, from monkeys and sloths to vibrant bird species, or explore coastal waters by kayak or paddleboard. The diversity and density of life here make for an unforgettable day of exploration.

Day 6
Isla San Lucas & Puntarenas

Visit Isla San Lucas, once home to Costa Rica’s most notorious prison and now a national park. Tour preserved prison structures, hike forest trails, and kayak scenic coastlines. Later, stroll Puntarenas’ Paseo de los Turistas boardwalk, admire local landmarks, shop, and immerse yourself in coastal culture.

Day 7
Santa Elena Bay

Spend your final full day in Santa Elena Bay, a pristine marine environment known for its clear waters and quiet beaches. Enjoy snorkelling, kayaking or paddleboarding, or take time to relax and reflect on the journey in this peaceful setting.

Disembark and transfer to Liberia

Return to port and disembark after breakfast, with a transfer back to Liberia for onward travel.

Some shore landings and activities may involve uneven terrain, wet landings, or light scrambling. Boarding zodiacs and moving around the vessel may require balance and agility, though assistance is always provided. Our snorkelling and kayaking program is designed for guests looking for a deeper connection with the places we visit.
